Not sure if the numbers bear it out.
It's been a few years since my childhood, but I recall quite a bit of snow each winter and it was so cold back then sometimes another snow would come before the first one melted. And ice storms that would break power lines. The elect. co. wasn't as efficient as they are now. Sometimes we'd be w/o electricity for what seemed like forever. Lack of electricity wasn't as big of a deal then as it is now. We heated and cooked with coal and had a couple of kerosene lamps for light. Of course there weren't any computers and people didn't watch tv as much as they do now. Ah, the good ole days.

Yeah, my dad grew up in a log home without any power. I asked how they slept in the winter. There was a big fireplace downstairs, kitchen was detached from the home. He signaled they slept upstairs under a big stack of what I guess were quilts. My grandmother was an excellent seamstress and wasted nothing. Anyway, they got through the cold without missing that nonexistent electricity to their home.

Lots of rain on the way for tomorrow. Careful of ponding and flash flooding.

Per next week's forecast, our forecast is looking a lot like the Polar Vortex thing although they aren't calling it that.

I wondered what your river limits were. Fingers crossed, it doesn’t get that high

Thinking of all of you possibly affected by flooding. I’ve read about Corbin and Floyd County, but know there are others. Hope you’re safe in this.

That’s powerful. The last time I was there was in 2015. The drive up there is beautiful.

A lot of rain. And now looks like several inches of snow. Jefferson County has been down graded to an Advisory. Too cold for anything that falls to melt

A fine snow falling in Jeffersontown. I had planned on going ou5 later this morning. Not now. A prelude to a possible 4-6 tomorrow. UGH!
