10 beer brands Americans are proud to drink

The beer industry is experiencing unprecedented changes right now.
Young consumers are abandoning classic brands like Budweiser in favor of craft brews. While brands like Bud Light and Natural Light are still bestsellers, many consumers don't want to be associated with them.
To find out which beer brands Americans are most proud of, YouGov BrandIndex surveyed consumers on quality, satisfaction, impression, value, reputation and willingness to recommend.
Here are the top 10 picks according to their results.

    10. St. Pauli Girl
    9. Corona
    8. Blue Moon
    7. Heineken
    6. Stella Artois
    5. Dos Equis
    4. Fat Tire
    3. Guinness
    2. Yuengling
    1. Samuel Adams

I see my beer of choice (Miller High Life) failed to make the list.

Most of the time I drink Bud Lite, but when I want to treat myself, and I know I'm not going anywhere, I like the Winter Lager by Sam Adams. Super delicious and definitely packs a kick.

Founders Dirty Bastard, or Lagunitas Maximus are my go to beers....
Never see either on a most popular list...

Not a fan of #3, and #5,#7, & #9 are terrible. Yuengling may be my #1 choice the last few years. High Life has been a longtime fav, too, Matt.

For all except Dis Equis, I stridently disagree with that assessment.

Nice list ukwebfan. I'm a fan of all of those. I would add Schlafly to that list. Their Tazmanian ipa and Pumkin Ale are outstanding.

When eating out, if Miller High Life, or another Miller, isn't available, I usually order Michelob Ultra. I've drank Landshark and Dos Equis, both of which aren't bad, in my opinion, but I can't justify the price.

Yuengling's been my beer of choice for over a decade. I drink High Life on the golf course.

Only one I disagree with being on that list is Corona. Always seemed to taste skunked more often than not.

My brother-in-law was an assistant manager at Big Ben National Park in southwest Texas 25 years ago. Lot of Mexican immigrants worked for the park service in maintenance. He asked what they drank in Mexico. They drank Bud and Bud Light. To them, the worst beer made in Mexico was Corona. They didn't understand why Americans liked it.

I'd probably replace Dos Equis with Negra Modelo. I agree Miller High Life should be there somewhere.

In our area it seems that High Life has become popular with some of the younger crowd, and I assume it's an affinity similar to the one fueling PBR's resurgence. There are times when I have to try a second store in order to find bottles of High Life...which sort of surprises me.

I've gone through a bit of an odd phase where I'm no longer as wild about craft beers. This is not to say that I no longer enjoy a big AB, but I'm just not as apt to go through the effort to purchase any when I'm in the Lexington area.

I like craft beers, but I'm worn on the IPA craze. Seems most all of `em are hanging their hat on IPA sales. I like IPAs okay, but trend more toward stouts and porters with regard to craft beers.

Glad Blue Moon made the list. BTW...J*Town is having their 1st beer festival June 6th in the square I think. $35 adv, $45 the day of. 2 to 6. A little early in the day. You can go to the Chamber of Commerce for details. Depending on the weather, we may give it a shot.
