    RIP Hammerin' Hank

Hank Aaron has passed at 86.

I was fascinated watching him as a youngster because he wasn't a big guy, but generated his power through his hips.

Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

I remember watching on TV the day (night) he broke the record.

Probably the last person to do it without being juiced.

Yup. Me, too. I recall how uneasy he looked when the fan came onto the field and ran along side. He later said he was somewhat scared at that point because he had been getting death threats were he to break Ruth's record.

That's what I told my wife, just a few minutes ago.

Sad news. I'm too young to rwmember him but I was so into baseball in my youth that I wanted any Aaron card I could find. Somewhere I have his 2nd year Topps card. I always admired his integrity and he seemed like such a nice person in interviews. I loved Hank Aaron.

Which is why I still consider him the home run record holder.

I had his baseball card when I was a young lad in the early 60s. It was in black and white. Then, one year his card, from TOPPS I think, was in color. The difference was incredible.

One of the Baseball Greats, a gentleman. His wrist action was awesome.
