RV sales are up. It’s a great way to go. We try to go in the off-season and stay in state parks.
Pre-camper days, we made the road trip Blue Heaven mentioned. From Texas to Seattle. Can’t even remember all the states, for we went a different way coming back. I’ve been many places in the U.S., and some outside, but that was the trip of a lifetime. We were picking up a couple of dogs on Bainbridge Island, so we didn’t dawdle in the way back, but they got to play in the snow on a mountaintop in Colorado. The trip took about 10 days. The two dogs, plus one more, later became part of our camping crew. Great times.

My daughter, SIL, and two awesome grandkids live in Seattle. As of now, it's been over a year since I've seen them which is painful. I've been ordered not to fly there. I HATE driving with a passion. If something doesn't break soon with the virus, I may end up walking.

On the contrary, that's the only way I drive.
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

Yes, the virus situation is frustrating. My husband doesn’t mind driving, but we’ll be taking fewer trips. However, being self-contained, bringing all of our food, not needing to use any public facilities, it is a somewhat lower risk.

I’ve always tried to plan trips with shorter distances between stops, just enjoying the journey. On that trip out west, we only stayed a couple of days in Seattle but saw so much in between. My granddaughter lives in Seattle, too. Hope you get to see your family soon.

We just bought a new minivan (Honda Odyssey EX-L in case you're curious) which was...not my preferred vehicle at first. But I'll be completely honest with you, after driving it on a 2.5 hour trip with kids last weekend, I am freaking sold.

This thing is like riding in a giant pillow and it's so freaking roomy. I really want to drive out west and it seems like this van makes it feasible to do that.

Anyone been to Arizona? I'm planning a trip there in December to hit Saguaro NP, Petrified Forest NP, the painted desert, and the Grand Canyon as a surprise for my wife's 30th in January.

Never been but a friend of mine went to Sedona last year and judging by the photos I saw, I suggest you add It to the list.

Swdona's been on my list for a while, before Moab.
