Sorry, we couldn’t find that page
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

      Very cool.

Was this recorded live and then re-performed in the studio? The sound quality is awfully good for that era in a rooftop, metropolitan, windy performance. Or maybe they were playing with mics off and running a recording through the PA?

Thanks, surveyor. For those who may not know, the Beatles are my favorite artists. That's saying a lot coming from a guy who grew up during the Golden Age of rock and roll. Having said that, I do prefer their earlier songs over their later stuff.

I'm pretty sure they recorded it on the rooftop and ran with it. Alan Parsons was dispatched to purchase some womens pantyhose to place over the microphones to blunt the wind noise.

It's an amazing recording and performance. After watching it twice, and really looking I believe it. It is so good at first it seemed too good to be a real live recording.

Cool vid there Surveyor. Grew up a Beatles fan because it is my Dad's favorite group. And yes, the recording quality is top notch here and really hard to fathom considering the setting.

A young Billy Preston playing keys if I recall.

Not quite as old as you 😉, but I also prefer their earlier stuff. I remember screaming at the small black and white TV (with rabbit ears) we had while watching them on the Ed Sullivan show. Maybe I am as old as you 🙂

Yep, I was right there with you Cathy. I was at my grand parents with all my cousins. My grandfather was an old German guy. I remember him leaving the living room grumbling something in German when the Beatles were on. Go figure. I grew up a big fan of music. When I first heard the Beatles, EVERTYTHING changed. Music just "sounded" different.

I'm pretty sure you're not. I turned 75 on Thanksgiving Day.

Here's my story of my introduction to the Beatles. No one I knew, at the time, had ever heard of the Beatles. I was at my, then, girlfriend's house and we were listening to the radio the way most young people did back then. We were listening to a station out of Boston and this band came on playing either "I Want To Hold Your Hand" or "I Saw Her Standing There". I believe it was the latter, although I'm not sure. That was a long time ago. I said to her, "I don't know who those fellows are, but they're are going to be very famous".
