    Jessi Combs killed attempting land speed record

    These people always fascinated me growing up. I always wanted to go to the Bonneville Salt Flats to see some of this stuff. Combs fascinated me even more because there's not many women at all in auto motorsports and even fewer in these type of crafts. Further, she also designed and built her own cars.

          These people are a different breed. John Force (NHRA Funny Car) was involved in a serious crash a few years ago and, after a year off rehabbing, is still racing. A fellow I grew up with lost his life racing motorcycles.
