Dropped our Daughter off at College...

...at the University of Cincinnati Tuesday. Such an AWESOME school and campus, but she is two hours away from home. I have been an absolute mess since then. She’s our only child. The one saving grace is that she is rooming with her best friend and that makes it just a tad easier. This has hit me harder than I thought it would. Hats off to UC for the the easy transition, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that we are now empty nesters. We are ecstatic, though, that she is staying at The Deacon and not some cramped dorm. I know she will excel but that doesn’t make her leaving any easier. As the Tim McGraw song says, “Go on take on this whole world but to me you’ll always be my little girl”.

And here's another song, "Down on my knees, I learned to stand." I know how you feel.

I hear you loud and clear. I just have one daughter as well and went through exactly what you all are. I remember the day we took her to the first grade. It was traumatic. I was a complete mess the entire day.

it was hard to do. When my daughter started there were no cell phones. I remember not long after school started, there were tornado warnings in Lexington. She wasn’t in her dorm room. I was panicking. She was in the Blanding tower on the top floor in study group. You will get used to it.
