Cut the cord today and it was rather liberating. Went with Hulu.

Tell us how you like it in a few weeks. I'm shutting off YoutubeTV for the summer after the NBA playoffs.

Yes, BH, please do. The wife and I have been considering our options, and we've about decided it's HULU for us as well.

How does HULU work, BH? Do you run a ESB cable from your computer to your tv?

Matt I will be watching through my amazon fire stick as well as an iPad and my cell when at work. The fire stick plugs into an hdmi port on your tv. Set up is gravy. It has Hulu app already on it.

When you have the time, BH, if you wouldn't mind give us a little overview. For example do you buy the fire stick and then pay HULU so much each month? Also, do you pay for the base package and then $5.99 for each additional channel you want that isn't included in the base package?

Matt, we already had the fire stick. Of course one don’t need a fire stick or roku or Apple TV to enjoy Hulu. They are just a means to receive Hulu’s or any other streaming service. You can just use your phone or computer if you like.
An hdmi cord can plug straight to your tv and you can use it that way if that is what you prefer. If you have a smart tv then there is no need for a roku or fire stick. Just download the Hulu app from your tv. We don’t have a smart tv so I have my fire stick plugged into my hdmi port.

We picked the Hulu + live tv option. That is $44.95 a month. You get full access to their streaming library+ local channels+ about 60 other “cable” channels. This includes all espn networks as well as the sec network and the fox sports channels. This was HUGE for me and was what sold me. You can stream simultaneously with only 2 devices with the option we chose but that is all we need. For $10 more you can stream on unlimited devices.

Browsing through the interface, it is simple to use. I find my HD channels look better than what I had with Spectrum. At least in my area, their cable service is JUNK and I told them that. My HDchannels via Hulu looks a lot better. We have a good Vizio with a great picture but Spectrum was lacking in the picture department. At least as far as I am concerned.

Only been not not even one day and I am super impressed. I will NEVER go back to cable. You should find yourself pleased, Matt.

Matt you can either pay $5.99 and get only their library of tv shows and movies. Or you can pay $44.95 and get the full streaming library+local channels+ about 60 other channels. Go to Hulu.com and you can view their packages. We will save close to $100 a month.

Matt, if you want HBO it’s $14.99 extra a month. Trying to answer all your questions

We just did HBO through Amazon Prime (we watched the first two seasons of Veep through Prime, got hooked, and wound up subscribing to watch the rest of the series).

If you have Amazon Prime video, it's extremely easy to subscribe through that.

Will be signing up for prime. Great deal for a year as we order often from amazon. Not only get their free shipping but their streaming as well as music. You can download their music as well. Fantastic deal.

Daughter gets all kinds of perks for college as far as music/streaming content goes. I will be taking advantage of that.
