I still have doubts they actually did any work to it the first time, but will never know for sure.
This did sound like a mass air flow sensor. I have had that to happen to me a couple of times. My car never actually stopped. It just slowed down to a crawl when you went uphills. Just didn't have much power. I had a harrowing journey from about Scranton-Wilkes-Barre, Pa to northern Virginia one time with that going out on me. I had to crawl up numerous hills in PA while not knowing if it was going to die on me at any second. I made it home in about twice the time but I did make it.
They probably didn't replace it the 1st time. They most likely just cleaned out the CO2 around it and went with that.

It frustrates me to no end when I take my car to a shop, they don't fix it, but I still pay the bill. I don't know when that became acceptable, but it's a rip-off.

Also, where are you driving that you have 155,000 miles on a six year old car?

I'm guessing daily from the Ville to Frankfort.

Oh yeah, I forgot. That makes sense.

The Frankfort drive is a killer. If not for the Gene Snyder I'd be able to do it in about 40 minutes. On most mornings though it takes about 55.

I've thought about doing the Ticket to Ride thing. They meet at Southeast Christian and a few other places. Problem is I've never been down with not having a car in Frankfort.

Does it still look like your problems are resolved?

The central role that chips, code etc. play in cars now makes these things so much more difficult, in some ways, than they used to be.

Having an honest mechanic you trust is worth a lot these days.

Sure is. I love mine. Small shop here in town. It takes a while to get your vehicle back but the wait is worth it. He always calls and lets you know the progress. He also starts at the cheapest easiest remedy then goes from there.

Same here. Mine also has a body shop. All work is guaranteed.
