The Son
I've been watching this from the 1st episode. Excellent adaptation of book by Phillip Meyer. Meyer also helped develop it for teevee.
It's a fictitious story of Eli McCullough, born the same year Texas became a Republic and follows his life to 1915 south Texas. Well told recounting of the history between the native Mexican population and the whites living in the area.
I've enjoyed watching the series thus far, but the only quibble I have is, while Pierce Brosnan is superb as Eli McCullough, he appears significantly younger than the character he portrays. Brosnan is 64, but could pass for younger. The character is in his late 70's to perhaps 80.
However, once you get past that, it's an engaging story.
