    Markham provided a distinct sound to Merle's hits such as "Rainbow Stew", "It's All in the Movies", "I Think I'll Just Sit Here and Drink", among countless others.

    The door on the Bakersfield era is quickly closing.........

    Sad news. Merle is my favorite country artist of all time. Country music lost it's way quite some time ago. This "country" today is unbearable. Florida Georgia Line. Luke Bryant. I'd rather stick my arm in a meat grinder.
