Actor Bill Paxton dead at 61

Sad news. I liked every movie he was in. He died during complications from surgery. Who would've thought that Chet would turn out to be something? He has been in some good films. A movie of his that was underrated IMO, was Frailty. Rest in Peace Bill Paxton.

My favorite Paxton role was that of Morgan Earp in Tombstone.

That was a relatively small role Matt. Watch A Simple Plan or One False Move. Fantastic movies.

Sad news. I enjoyed the films Paxton was in, but never got him. I thought he as average as an actor. Apollo 13 was probably one of his more memorable performances outside of Alien, and that largely due to the over the top portrayal of Private Hudson.

          RIP Bill Paxton
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

I never thought he was a great actor, but he brought a warmth, familiarity and everyman quality to just about everything he was in.

I think of him as a very good character actor. If you want that one character in your movie, he's fine. He won't make the movie but adds some depth to the background of the main story. Those guys tend to have much more consistent careers than stars.

I never saw him in the lead in stuff like Big Love...

Aliens, Apollo 13, and is 60 seconds in the first Terminator are what come to mind with him.

Check out Big Love, A Simple Plan, Frailty, especially. He was fantastic as the lead in all those roles. To say nothing of Twister, which was awesomely awful.
