I'd say that's pretty normal, Matt. Another thing I want to do is visit ancestral property in Eastern Kentucky and see the sunrise as they would have seen it in the 1700's. My luck, it will be a stormy day. Ha

I've done a couple day hikes and one overnight expedition (in the smokies). It's a fun thing if you like mountain hiking.Comment

Good luck Cap!! Last summer I researched my grandma's family(Mary Nehoma Greenwell). They came to Nelson County from northern England in the 1780's right after the Revolutionary War, and later moved to Marion County. I know the location of my ancestors burial ground right off Ice Town Road. I plan to nose around a bit and let it all soak in. My grandma was an amazing, beautiful lady. I still miss her daily.Comment

Thanks, Dave! I appreciate the well wishes. I'll be up there in a couple of weeks for a meeting to restore the cemeteries. These are Auxiers in Johnson County, and they're buried on the property. My husband doesn't know we're getting up so early before the meeting yet. Ha. He's been a trooper though, hiking with me up hills and through brush to visit cemeteries in Magoffin, Johnson, Floyd and Lawrence Counties. Mine go way back in those areas. I hope you find your family cemeteries in good condition, and can arrange to keep flowers on their graves. They were brave folks, all.

My brother lives in Baltimore, works in DC. Up to see him for a week for his fiftieth bday and finally see some things.
Washinton during the day is beautiful. Went to the Smithsonion and saw the Hope Diamond.
Went to the National Archives and saw the actual Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and the Constitution.
I've always been fascinated by history, but seeing those three documents in person was actually a 'gulp' moment for me.Comment

I'm headed to Seattle Sunday the 2nd(I'll wave to everyone as I fly over). Looking forward to a plethora of excellent food, but I have put in a special request for Dungeness crab alfredo, fresh Washington St. salad, and a nice, cool Pinot Grigio.Comment
