Great stuff indeed. My folks kept up a steady stream of Big Band music while I was growing up. Still one of my favorite genres. I'd love to see Lady Gaga record an album of "Old Standards". She's supremely talented and I'm sure she could pull it off in a large way.Comment

My wife's aunt is in her early 90s and in great health. She still mows her own yard with a push mower and walks regularly. Her husband was a WWII veteran and passed away about 25 years ago. She has a huge collection of Big Band and Swing music that was mostly his choosing but she enjoys listening to it still. Not so much because of the music as much as it reminds her of him. A lot of them are 78s.Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.
