Singer-songwriter George Michael dies at 53

Singer George Michael has died. He was 53.

“It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period,” Michael’s publicist confirmed to Entertainment Weekly and PEOPLE.
“The family would ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult and emotional time. There will be no further comment at this stage.”

Michael was a fantastic talent who just never really seemed to maximize it for whatever reason. I read someone elses comments that he bogged himself down in lawsuits when what should have been his peak years and that caused him probably millions of dollars and took energy away from his musical abilities.

He had some decent songs in the 80's. I read some years ago that the love songs he wrote was for his former WHAM! member. Who can forget the SNL skit with I believe Dana Carvey parodying his Faith video. "LOOK AT MY BUTT!"
