The father of one of UK’s top basketball recruiting targets has been hired as an assistant coach at Washington.
Michael Porter Sr. — the father of five-star small forward Michael Porter Jr. — was hired as a member of Lorenzo Romar’s coaching staff, according to Rivals.com national analyst Eric Bossi. Porter Sr. just wrapped up his sixth season as an assistant coach for the Missouri’s women’s basketball team and is a longtime friend of Romar, who is also Porter Jr.’s godfather.
