Kentucky WBB has 'a long ways to go', but size and talent will allow them to improve

Watching the scrimmage in the Blue-White Preseason Event, there were a lot of positives, but there were also a couple of things that stood out that Kentucky clearly needs to work on. However, at this point in the year (two weeks before the first game), that’s to be expected.

At SEC Media Day, Kenny Brooks acknowledged that his team is still a work in progress, but he likes what he’s seen. Having raw talent and a lot of size to go with that talent certainly helps.

“We have a long ways to go,” Brooks said. “We’re tinkering. I think it’s well-documented we’ve had a couple injuries that have had us to change how we’re going to play this year. We’re very tall, with the exception of Dazia [Lawrence] and Georgia [Amoore]. We’re going to be long, athletic. We’re going to have to try to utilize to our strength.”
