I don’t think this looks good for Pope, but it should free up some decent money to try and land someone who comes back from the draft.

I keep one thing in mind, it's Mark Pope's job to lose or retain the head coaching position at the University of Kentucky. Time will tell if he is making stupid recruiting decisions.
I hope for the best, there are still some good options out there.
Keep your heads up Cats I think Stokes decision may be a blessing in disguise.

South jones ....Pope just had the trifecta play him for more money. Rob Wright, Donnie Freeman and now Tyran Stokes. All 3 apparently used Kentucky to up the offer from where they really wanted to be.

I think most of us knew this was going to be the result. He Could/should have called this
a long time ago. He played Pope to get the big bucks, great marketing

That’s how bad Pope and company are they can’t close on a Nike kid. Tells you everything you need to know moving forward.

Go get Momsolovic, take the Stokes money and get it done. The Cats will be a better team in the long run.

I’m hoping they are wrong, but these things rarely go our way anymore.

We are going to ride with Diallo, Wilkins, Kam Williams, N’Diaye, and Moreno. I’m saying Wilkins is our best shot at a perimeter star to replace Oweh. Moreno has to step up and be a force inside. Diallo has to control the game while Kam and N’Diaye just have to make shots.

We need to add some bench/role players ASAP. Need some shooters and some bulk inside. Maybe a rim protector.
It's sounding more and more like Momcilovic may be pulling out of the draft and heading back to college....so if that's the case and we miss out on Stokes, I like our chances with him. The only schools mentioned that he's considering are Kansas, Kentucky and Florida.....so I would imagine Kansas would be off the list and it would be between UK and Florida.

Well if you want to pin your hopes on something, Goodman being wrong isn’t the worst strategy. LOL!

And I don’t know what would make it an NCAA tourney team if Stokes is at KU and we don’t miraculously sign Momcilovic. Heck, I am not sure we are a tourney team with either of those guys anyway.

We will probably add Jerone Morton (he’s a KY native) and maybe Devin Williams (I haven’t heard much about any real competition for him). Those two will help, but aren’t really difference makers.

Diallo, Wilkins, and Moreno will have to be the stars of the show. Kam isn’t star material. He’s a 3 and D guy. Maybe Hawthorne is the wildcard? Maybe N’Diaye is way better than Jelavic was?

Way too much uncertainty for my taste.

But we had high expectations last season and look how that turned out. Maybe we will have the opposite happen this year.

    But I doubt it.

    Starters

    G Diallo
    G Wilkins
    G K. Williams
    F N’Diaye
    F Moreno

    Bench

    F Hawthorne
    G M. Williams
    F Noah
    C Potter

Need to add a potential star and then some beef inside.

We are going to enter this season with a great deal of uncertainty.

My expectations are low, at this point.

I don’t see Pope getting a Year Four, unless he makes a deep run (Final Four).
