I don't even know what a quad 1 win is? I am just assuming its a good win.

West Virginia is actually not a Quadrant 1 win, but I would almost guarantee that will carry some weight on Selection Sunday.

Utah Valley is oddly going to be a top 50 win and--if you go by the RPI--a better win than Alabama. Very close to Louisville.

I'm not sure what the committee is going to use because their formula is still so mysterious. They probably will use Quadrant wins because it's a new thing, but it's always hard to tell. My thought is they just look for good TV games and then lie and say they don't do that.

A win against Auburn if we both get to that game would be a pretty good win Saturday for our resume. Auburn is a team that's been fading but they still carry some weight. Would love to see us somehow get that game and then Tennessee in the championship.

Yes, UGA and USC are bad losses for Florida. But, they have 9 quad 1 wins including 5 top 20, 6 top 25.

UK has no bad losses but has just 3 total quad 1 wins (and 9 losses) and zero wins against top 20, just 1 against top 25

Florida has some sketchy losses that UK doesn't have. UK hasn't been able to beat the top of the SEC but it's held up against the bottom half of the league.

South Carolina is the only "bad" loss. Florida was swept by Georgia, lost to South Carolina, and was blown out at home by Alabama.

They'll be a couple of seed lines above Kentucky because they swept us head to head, but I don't think there's really a wide gulf between the two teams.

I also think this year is one of those seasons when the two teams who get to Sunday in St. Louis are rewarded more than usual. So Kentucky might be a 6 with a chance to go up a couple of seed lines with a pair of wins--but there's really not any difference this season between a 6 and a 4. A lot of sameness in the bracket.

Agreed. Michigan State will not even get a sniff at a 1 seed. In fact they are more likely to be a 3 than a 1.

Oh sorry I see I said about the same thing as Catsrock. Oh well great minds thin alike.
That's funny because I've read your posts before and thought how similar my thoughts are on the subject.

    Great minds...maybe. Like minds...probably.

If you also don't like Duke this is uncanny.

They are 9-4 against Quad 1 teams. UK is just 3-8 (which is why I think UK will be seeded lower than others are predicting)

I was just thinking how much that narrow miracle win at UL might weigh on the committee's decision. But you are probably correct, UVA and Duke will get a one seed.

We all know the NCAA will find some way to favor Duke and UNC, unless there is absolutely no way for Duke to get a 1 seed. Both will play in their backyard and have the best draw possible. We will be in a tough bracket and play as far from Lexington as possible.

More likely to me they would BOTH get #1's. I'd say UVA and Mich St. are virtual locks but Nova and Xavier could drop with early conference tourney exits.
