Kentucky's offensive identity under Will Stein in 2026

The Kentucky Wildcats are bringing in a new era of football in 2026. We have all become accustomed to what a Kentucky team looks like, as we found the formula for success that Mark Stoops used over his 13 year run with the program. Kentucky has essentially flipped that in the opposite direction with head coach Will Stein. The 36-year-old offensive guru is going to try to win football games on the offense rather than on the defensive side.

I'm certainly expecting a whole lot different look and philosophy on both sides of the ball. I expect we won't see entire halves of absolutely awful offense like we suffered through with Stoops, more prominent in the last 3+ years. I think we have enough good skill position players who, when put into the right situations with the right plays called, can be very effective. If we can keep the QB clean and give him some time, I think the offense will be an eye-opener. Not a 30+ ppg (especially with 9 SEC games) but definitely not trying to win every game 17-13, either.

I hope the defense is as difficult to prepare for vs the BDB, 10-yard cushion on the outside version we saw all to often the past few years.

We may not win a lot more games, but they almost have to be more exciting to watch, right?
